Check out Australia's new (as of 2015) post-entry Quarantine facility

Australia made a big, bold decision to centralise their quarantine facility in Melbourne, Victoria which opened in 2015. Australia is a huge country, which means any animal living anywhere outside of Melbourne following their release from quarantine would have to undergo further onward travel. It was a decision thet divided a lot of Australians and animal lobby groups. Regardless of the backlash the facility opened. My husband and I have used the facility twice for our boys over the past 5 years with mixed reviews. We used the old de-centralised model prior to this on a further two occasions. In general the experience has been reasonable. They have a motto that goes 'no news is good news', and under normal conditions I would agree. However our babies have undergone a big ordeal, are completely out of their comfort zone and now living in a foreign environment, so a little more love would be appreciated. If you reach out they will respond within a day or two, but dont expect a speedy, warm nor fuzzy response. Whilst you cannot see your fur baby during their quarantine stay it is good news that they introduced allowing food to be delivered to the facility, through certain merchants, so you can spoil your babies during their stay. Here is a link to DAFF, The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry site that has a video showing the quarantine facility. Remember folks ALL animals entering Australia must arrive in Melbourne, Victoria. No other airport is acceptable.
